MeshSTOR was asked to advise on mesh protection systems for existing racks.  Particularly concerning pallet racking next to walkways. MeshSTOR advised the implementation of anti-collapse mesh protection fitted to the back of existing pallet racking. This type of protection can help prevent items from falling from a heigh. The mesh is available in different sizes and strengths, also in steel or fabric rack nets, and can be tailored to suit what is stored on the racks. Similarly, it can be fitted full height or just partially, normally after the 1st beam level. The mesh panels are supported on brackets attached to the racks, the offset is variable on brackets from 30mm to 600mm, depending on pallet overhang. Typically 150mm is popular allowing 50mm pallet overhang on the beams.

As an added benefit MeshSTOR supplied the panels to the exact size, so no cutting/trimming was required as the client had the in-house facility to install the anti-collapse themselves.

Anti-collapse panels can also be fitted to sides of frames at the extreme ends for added protection. Other precautions to safeguard pallets are to fit mesh decking to beam levels to ensure pallets don't dislodge and fall through the racks.    

The customer, in this case, chose a 100 x 50 x 2.5 galvanized mesh offset on 200mm brackets. No anti-collapse on end frames but did have tailor-made mesh doors fitted to the bottom level to safeguard pallets designed to cater for pallet upright guards.
