Our client wanted to introduce saftey measures to safeguard against items falling from height. Another depot had an accident and an operator injured from item falling from a broken pallet. 

Keen to upgrade and safeguard against this, the client asked MeshSTOR to put togather a safeguarding proposal.

The existing pallet racking had ill-fitting timber decks to the pallets used and pallet support bars but no anti-collaspe safety mesh or netting between the flue of the pallet racking.

MeshSTOR's solution was to:

• Replace all timber decks and pallet supoort bars with mesh decks, The new mesh decks provided a firm and even surface to pallets of all sizes. The weight loading capacities taylor made to suit existing pallets. The mesh size was 50 x 100 which provided an additional barrier for items falling through the decks.
• Install metal anti-collaspe mesh panels inbetween the racks. The mesh to start from 1500mm off ground as this the height of the first beam.  The mesh was also taylor made to suit the exact rack lenghts to eliminate any cutting of mesh panels and ensure a faster installation.The pallet racking had to be relocated allowing for a  150mm gap (flue) to accept the mesh anti-collaspe and 50mm overhang for pallets on back-to-back racks.
• Fit rack exentions to the pallet racking uprights to allow the anti-collpse mesh to be 1000mm higher than the top beam height to prevent any pallet fall through at the top. 

In addition the client initiated the wrapping of all top pallets to enclose pallets as an added safeguard 

The overall result was a success and made the pallet racking super safe against any items falling from height. An added benefit was the mesh made the racks lighter and brighter to use, All pallets were much easier to access and view for the forklift operator.
